Water-Control Features.
Photographs of water-control features. Three photographs show the following (1) large boulders used as rip rap along a shoreline, (2) a lock beneath an arched bridge, and (3) a short dam spanning a river with water spilling over the top.
Riprap (top image) along was installed on shorelines to mitigate erosion and lateral meandering. Locks (middle image) and dams (bottom image) were constructed in many locations along the river.
