Dearest Annie,
I am delighted to hear of your safe arrival. We miss you every moment – as if we had a regular claim upon your presence. James is waiting so I can only say I am well & the baby also, that I have a nurse in prospect & hope to be in Portland before a great while. but cant say when yet on account of my foot which the Doctor must look at first. I already [p. 2] long for another visit from you dearest I enjoyed this one so much - & baby looks round for his Auntie too I fancy Love to all,
