Swivel Gun at Fort Necessity

A small piece artillery mounted on a post with the stockade of Fort Necessity and a British navel ensign (flag) waving in the background.

A swivel gun is a small mounted artillery piece. This one is located just outside the stockade of Fort Necessity. George Washington's Virginian's had nine swivel guns at Fort Necessity, but the did not play a major role in the battle.
