Wingfield’s Battery (Irvin Artillery) The casualties at the Battle of Gettysburg included over 3,000 Georgians killed, wounded, or missing. The most prominent of these was Georgia’s Brigadier General Paul Jones Semmes who was mortally wounded in Longstreet’s attack on the Round Tops on the second day of the battle.
