The White House and President’s Park student volunteer Joseph Kang looks off into the distance.
Greetings. I am Joseph Kang, a volunteer of the White House and President's Park Photography Program, hiker, history enthusiast, and amateur photographer.
Since my first phone, I have loved attempting to take photos. However, that phone was totaled while taking photos and traveling abroad. I lost many of those files. I accidentally broke my second, too, and I am now on my third. I am grateful that the program has taught me more sophisticated methods of storing my files and being more generally cautious with my cameras.
Even better, I have learned what an "ISO" is supposed to do (I had limited prior experience with proper cameras). I came to understand how to critique on what makes a photo great. What's more, the trips taken included tours from the National Park Service Rangers. They introduced many local histories to us, some I once had only been vaguely aware of, and appreciated my appreciation for our heritage and environment. I hope these photos can capture my sentiments.
