A Trail in Danger (2020)

Hiking to Blue Hen Falls via the Buckeye Trail has become an increasingly popular daytrip in recent years. The opening of the Boston Mill Visitor Center in fall 2019—as well at the COVID-19 pandemic—brought an influx of visitor use. This resulted in the widening of the trail; increased erosion; the trampling of sensitive plants; and unsafe muddy, slippery conditions.
