Gopher snakes (Pituophis catenifer) are nonvenomous constrictors. They are often confused for rattlesnakes, despite having no rattle and being nonvenomous. In fact, these large snakes are actually known to eat rattlesnakes. They also mimic rattlesnakes by flattening their heads and vibrating the tip of their tail when threatened, though it makes no noise.
