This War Department marker details the movements of the Third Brigade, Second Division, of the Fifth Army Corps during the Battle of Gettysburg. This brigade included the 140th and 146th New York, and 91st and 155th Pennsylvania. Dispatched to the hill on the later afternoon of July 2, they assisted in the repulse of the Confederate attacks.
