President's Park student volunteer, Eli Schwartz smiles while holding a camera around his neck.
My name is Eli Schwartz. I live in Washington, DC and will be starting high school in the fall. I was selected to be a part the Presidents Park Youth Photography Program this summer. The program has helped me improve my photography, and the countless opportunities I’ve been given to visit national parks has helped me grow my photo portfolio. The program has also given me the chance to use the skills I have learned to capture the amazing views and the essence of the national parks. During these three weeks I have learned to really appreciate the natural beauty and history of our nation as well as the mission of our park system.
In addition to advancing my knowledge on the natural beauty, history, this park service program has also improved my photography skills. These skills will allow me to use my photos to express emotions to others by conveying my feelings through the photos. The color themes, lighting and angles can illustrate many feelings and put the viewer in the scene.
