Dear Mr. Ramsey:
In response to your letter regarding the Tennessee Regimental Monument to be erected on the battlefield of Gettysburg, I want you to know that I wholeheartedly support this proposal. Recently, with my family, I visited the monuments from the various states and significantly failed to observe a regimental monument erected in the memory of the sons of Tennessee, who fought on the battlefield at Gettysburg.
I want you to know that your proposal to erect a Tennessee regimental Monument in memory of the sons of the Volunteer State of Tennessee will have my full support and cooperation. And, the memory of the gallantry of the Tennessee Soldiers will be preserved and perpetuated.
With kindest regards and very best wishes, I am
Very sincerely yours,
Joe L. Evins, M. C.
