Bruns Monumental Company May 25, 1963 Mr. James B. Myers Superintendent, Gettysburg National Military Park Gettysburg, Pennsylvania Dear Mr. Myers: We have been awarded the contract to build a memorial for the state of Florida to be erected on your battlefield at the designated Florida site. I am mailing to you under separate cover, all plans with the exception of the lettering which will be forwarded in a few days. Since time is of most importance I would appreciate your prompt attention. The United States Senators in Washington representing Florida will be contacted on Monday to rush this through the Department of Interior or National Park Service. We plan to erect the South Carolina Memorial and the Florida Memorial during the week of June 17 – 22, 1963. Most respectfully yours, Bruns Monumental Company Harry V. Connolly
