About sixteen purple flowers that look like thick and rounded paint brushes. What appears as the main petals are actually purple bracts with lobey ends and that turn green toward their bases. The actual flowers are sprinkled throughout the bracts. Each flower is plump with a three-way split cream colored petal and yellow tips. The entire plant is covered in very thin, short and light hairs. Below the flowers are deeply lobed green leaves.

Nine bunches of tiny light pink flowers intertwined with dozens of light grey green pointy bracts. The bracts are so pointy the flower bunches appear as spiky balls. A few light green linear leaves extend below some of the flowers. Bare light brown stems attach the flowers to the base of the plant which is in a field of grass.
