This figure represents an ideal rarely attained in the field. The soldier's uniform and equipment include a military tri-corner hat with white piping signifying infantry; a ramrod and a short land pattern musket; red cuffs and collar with a blue regimental coat; a green blanket roll; knapsack or haversack used by Maryland soldiers for personal belongings; cartridge box for ammunition; overalls, stockings and gaiters; bayonet scabbard; ration bag/haversack; and a tin canteen.
