13 stripes, 35 stars, cavalry guidon re-captured by Anson Mills at the battle of slim buttes, September 9, 1876. The flag is stable but in poor condition. There are large areas of loss in the stripes and canton. The flag is very fragile and adhered to a 1/8" thick brown paper board. A covering of brown silk crepeline covers the flag and has been secured to the paper board with glue. It appears that the flag is also adhered to the board.
