Land Office at, Jackson I, Samuel Brown of Westville Miss who made Homestead Application No. 21051 for the SE ¼ NW ¼ and NE ¼ SW ¼ sec. 17, T 10 N, R 19 W do hereby give notice of my intention to make final proof to establish my claim to the land above described and that expect to prove my residence and cultivation before Circuit Clerk Simpson County at Westville, Miss on the 16th day of January, 1897, by two of the following witnesses: [notes] was 10 Willis Berry, of Westville, Miss Arch Berry, of “ “ Jim Stuart, of “ “ King Thompson, of “ “ [note in left margin cut off and not legible] [signature] Samuel Brown Land Office at, Jackson, Miss November 28, 1896 Notice of the above application will be published in the NEWS printed at Westville, Miss which I hereby designate as the newspaper published nearest the land described in said application. [signature] Robert E Wilson Register Notice to Claimant.—Give time and place of proving up and name the title of the officer before whom proof is to be made; also give names and post-office address of four neighbors, two of whom must appear as your witnesses.
