Franklin and Eleanor's sons Elliott and Franklin Jr with their nurse Blanche Spring at Campobello. Sara hired Ms. Spring to care for her grandchildren. She became a friend to Eleanor and encouraged her to consider raising the children herself. Firmly discouraged by Sara and Eleanor's cousin Suzy Parrish, Eleanor continued to rely on nurses and governesses to raise the children--a decision she later regretted.
