A color photograph of the music room/ parlor. A baby grand piano is adorned with candelabras and photographs. An antique sofa and chair are prominent.

The funerals of George Porterfield Gates and, eventually, his wife and daughter Madge were held in this room, respectively, in 1918, 1924 and 1952. But sometimes the sweet sound of the Steinway piano filled the house.
