Back of a carte-de-visite. Front shows a subject visible from above waist. Balding, white hair flowing to his shoulders in back, dark suit, white shirt. He gazes directly at viewer.
Inscription: "Hiram Powers." written in pencil underneath image in cursive. "33 1/2 Mr. H. Powers" written in cursive in ink in different handwriting upper verso. Photographer stamp includes eagle and "L. Powers / Photographie Americaine / 103 Via dei Serragli Florence."
Notes: C1868, when Powers was making portrait bust of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in Florence.
