Fountain in Columbus Plaza
The fountain in the center of the plaza is a marble pier surrounded by statues depicting Christopher Columbus and allegorical figures.
Detail of the fountain in front of Union Station. In 1907, Congress authorized the erection of a monument to Christopher Columbus in the city, and the plaza was designed as a space for public gatherings.
