Green River from Harpers Corner Trail.JPG
The Green River flows through sweeping geologic formations, such as the Mitten Park Fault, in this view from Harpers Corner Trail. The water is reddish-brown in color.
Despite the name, the Green River isn't always green. Sometimes it's bluish, red, or tan, or brown. It changes color throughout the year, depending on weather patterns and releases from the Flaming Gorge Dam upstream.
