1 of 25 on Park honoring troops from MA. Marks position held by 5 MA Battery on pm of July 2, 1863 where they shelled Confederates near Rose Farm Building & Woods. Located on N of Wheatfield Rd near junction w/ Sickles Ave at Excelsior Field. || MN & 2 cannons. Base, 5'6"x4'7", shaft, 4'x3', 7'3" high. Gable toped w/ chamfered edges. Polished Maltese cross w/ inscription on S, E, W sides. Polished inscription of crossed rammers on front slant of top.
