Sword (HOME 757)

steel sword

Pettibone Mfg. Co. steel sword. Steel construction with combination of leather and metal rings on handle. Chain attached from hilt to visor of cap. Cap sits on soldier positioned on end of handle. Lion sits on cap. Hilt is ornate, hawks on each end. "FCB"on side hilt, leaves, flowers and initials "U and R" on the other side. Name "C.R. Howes" in Gothic letters on blade 48 cm. from tip. Blade under hilt bears lettering, "The Pettibone Mfg. Co., Cincinnati, O."
