Sharks pose a threat to seals. If you see seals in Kalaupapa, or anywhere, give the moms and their pups plenty of space, and do not swim if they are on the beach. This photo was taken by a biological science technician whose monitoring and photography was conducted under NMFS Permit #22677. Photo was taken with a telephoto lens.
