Elinor Morgenthau (1892-1949) met the Roosevelt family after her marriage to Henry Morgenthau Jr., an active Democrat who managed a family farm in Fishkill, New York. They had three children, Henry III, Robert and Joan. Elinor Morgenthau became a close friend and key associate of Eleanor Roosevelt in the Women’s Division of the New York State Democratic Committee. Elinor wrote for the “Women’s Democratic News" which was published by the women’s division.
