Photograph of orange, black, and yellow locomotives of the BNSF Railway pulling a train crossing a railroad bridge over Abo Arroyo.
In 1995, the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad (AT&SF) merged with the Burlington Northern to become the BNSF Railway. BNSF Railway owns the line and constructed a second track adjacent to the southern boundary of the Abó unit. Vibrations associated with rail construction and the frequent passing of trains is a concern for the stability of archeological resources.
