Earnest R Alexander MD 234 West 149th Street New York City April 1, 1938 Dear Mrs. Bethune: My wife called up from the country today to say that an inflamed and ulcerated mouth resulting from a broken denture will make it impossible for her to make the trip to Washington. She has been hoping that the condition would subside, but it appears at this stage to be getting progressively worse. She is greatly disappointed and will get in touch with you later.
