White Trout Lily
A long, thick stem -- brownish in color -- stretches up from the bottom of the image almost all the way up to the top. A couple inches from the top edge of the photo, the stem curves downward so much so that the flower itself points downwards. The white pistil and yellow stamens of the lily point downward as the white petals curve upwards.
White trout lily, Erythronium albidum, native. Preferred habitat: moist woodland areas.
