Small orange butterfly perched on the top of a pink clover flower.
The European skipper (Thymelicus lineola) flies June through September. Originally introduced from Europe into Canada in 1910, this tiny butterfly is a vibrant orange color and can be spotted flying close to the ground among grassy vegetation in open areas.
