Upper Yosemite Falls Trail rock fall
Two large blocks of rock fell from above the Upper Yosemite Falls Trail, dropping 200 meters down the cliff before fragmenting upon impact. Boulders then struck the large soil and tree covered ledge containing the horizontal section of the Upper Yosemite Falls Trail, causing rock debris to sweep across the trail. The initial impact caused a large, light-gray-colored dust cloud, followed by a second, brown-colored dust cloud created by soil churned up in the debris flow.
