2014 Indian Canyon rock fall
A severed phone cable resting on a fresh boulder. Broken tree branches, leaves, and debris surround the area.
A medium-sized rock fall in eastern Yosemite Valley on the eastern wall of Indian Canyon. An overhanging rock mass near the top of the east wall of Indian Canyon detached and fell to a steeply dipping ledge covered with live oaks. Here, the block fragmented, creating a large brown dust cloud and then fell to the floor of Indian Canyon. The rock fall produced a large dust cloud and resulted in broken trees and a severed phone cable.
