Windy Point rock slide
A close perspective of fresh rock slide debris in a gully between two rock cliffs. At the bottom of the gully the rock debris widens across the hillslope below.
A rock slide occurred midway up the north-facing canyon wall opposite Windy Point. A block fell from the top of a rounded cliff and slid about 65 m into a gully, breaking up into several large boulders. The debris moved down the gully to where it widens out on a ledge, and from there rolled and tumbled out of the gully and onto the forested hillslope below, destroying numerous canyon live oaks and leaving a large area of fresh talus.
