Changing Shrublines at Eielson Visitor Center: 1954-2012
A photo pair showing Changing Shrublines at Eielson Visitor Center: 1954-2012
One of the highest elevation areas along the Park Road (~3,900 feet), Highway Pass, offers fantastic views in all directions. Do landscape changes seen here and in other photo pairs indicate that those views may be threatened in the future? How has the experience of a visitor to this area changed? The landscape featured in this photo pair has largely remained the same over the intervening period, but subtle changes certainly exist. The Park Road is a bit wider for example, and a slight increase in shrubs is apparent, especially on south-facing slopes.
