Esteemed Friend
We have written Replying to thy letter of the 21st hoping to hear from DeGraff Walton & Co but as yet we have not [heard?] Respecting the Wheat stored with them as we suppose by Capt Rusco We [illegible] that the story of Parsons is likely to be Correct as soon as we can Assertain more fully Respecting it from DeGraff Walton & Co we will write thee-------Respecting the twelve hundred bush’l Wheat that thee bot. in thy own Acct we will take at thy Proposal it will make no difference whether thee draws through the Bank of Geneva as thee Proposed or at N. York—thee may Continue to buy good Wheat for us not exceeding 8/ the Prospects are quite unpromising for market in the Spring but wish to keep buying a little to keep our mill going [illegible] an Respectfully thy friend D Merritt & Son”
