Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. A 2008 aerial view of the aquatic gardens shows the arrangement of ponds. Walter B. Shaw began here in the early 1880s with three ponds, fed by an underwater spring. He gradually expanded westward into the marsh, building new ponds, underground drainage pipes, and dikes that could support farm machinery.
