The steps and path that lead up Officers' Hill retain a remarkable amount of integrity, retaining not only the original alignment, but much of the historic fabric as well. The stone steps have been repaired and restored in recent years by the National Park Service and were probably maintained to a degree by the Crooks. Some, if not all, of the stone steps are likely to be original, and the extant retaining walls demonstrate construction methods and illustrate the care the soldiers took in building the camp.
