Acadia Grassland Prescribed Burn at Jordan Pond House
On April 27, 2024 staff of Acadia National Park's conducted a prescribed burn of around a 1 acre plot of land behind Jordan Pond House. The intention behind the fire was to perpetuate native blueberry plant growth and to restore the cultural landscape. The prescribed fire was successful without any complications. Members of the public were in the general vicinity, so the acre of land needed to be secured for around an hour of time before the public could safely travel through the area.
