Photograph of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow portrait bust carved in white material. Bust is standing on a square table with label "S. Kitson. Fecit Roma" at the bust's base. Face, hair, and full beard are carved in detail. Chest and shoulders are carved to look like they're draped in cloth.
Photograph of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow portrait bust by Samuel Kitson. Bust is standing on a square table with label "S. Kitson. Fecit Roma" at its base. Inscription: "Copyright July 19th 1879 / Longfellow" written in red ink in cursive on bust. "Compliments of / Samuel Kitson / Sculptor" written in cursive verso. Photographer's imprint includes "Sarony / 37 Union Sqr., New York." Notes: C1879. Assumed photographed relatively soon after 19 July 1879 copyright date. Associated Materials: 3007-1-2-1-97 shows slightly different angle of statue.
