R.P. Hunt Esq.
Dear Sir–
We enclose herein bills as per charges above – The Cotton went via Albany on the 17th – The Burlap & Paper went same way on the 19th and yesterday the cashmere was forwarded by express –
The paper is not exactly what you ordered but the nearest we could find, and we may say the same of the Burlap as we should have prefered a better quality –
The writer went to about 20 places to find a cassamere to suit"
On back of document on left:
"your views without meeting with just the thing. The one we send is an excellent one and cheap – but not probably quite so heavy as you want and perhaps not so dark – Should it not suit please return it and we will try again
We have sold today 5 Bales sheetings at 7 3/8 which makes 15 bales sold –
You will see by our charges that we have an a/c with you of the 12 babs goods and with you as agent for the joint a/c
The Cotton Market does not work kindly
Yours truly
Almy Patterson & Co
When we use the draft we will fill in the date & advise you –
I have made inquiries about the [Norwalk wood?] and cannot learn that they have any they intend to sell –
James Roy & Co of Watervliet had about 15000 extra & super wool (pulled) laying"
On back of document on right: "at Utica that is for sale and Mr Roy has promised to give me the price”
