June 13, 1963 Memorandum To: Regional Director, Northeast Region From: Superintendent, Gettysburg Subject: Florida Monument Arrangements This is written as follow-up to my memorandum of Monday, June 10, which forwarded the Florida monument plans for your consideration. I am informed by telephone today from Dr. J. Walter Coleman that Mr. Tolson approved the plans as submitted, so that construction can now begin. The contractor, Mr. Larry Connolly, of Columbia, South Carolina, will be here on Monday, the 17th, to start the work, and we expect to fix the exact location with him. We are recommending a site on the west side of West Confederate Avenue, at the edge of the meadow south and west of Spangler’s Woods. Kittridge A. Wing Superintendent
