Sample of photographs of Wiltsie (built 1945; destroyer: U.S. Navy, DD-716), passing under the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge
The starboard side of the vessel is in view. This destroyer was active in the Korean War and Vietnam War, among other conflicts and missions. Decommissioning preparations began in Alameda, California, in November 1975. This is most likely a photograph from around this time. Wiltsie was decommissioned there on January 23, 1976. The vessel was then sold to Pakistan for use in that country's navy.
