Sample of photographs of Coral Sea (built 1946; aircraft carrier: U.S. Navy, CVB-43), underway in the San Francisco Bay
The Midway-class aircraft carrier is seen leaving San Francisco Bay from her home port of Alameda, California, most likely activated in response to the Iranian Hostage Crisis which began November 4, 1979. She arrived in the Arabian Sea to relieve the aircraft carrier, MIDWAY, in February of 1980.
