LIBI_00019_00279; This item is an original albumen cabinet card of General George A. Custer in civilian dress. The bust view photograph is 4 x 5 5/8" (4 1/4 x 6 1/2" mounted) and was produced circa 1876 by Matthew B. Brady of Washington, D.C. On the front, a typed notation reads, "M.B. Brady, Washington, D.C." On the verso, handwritten notations in pencil read, "This is evidently the General/Tom Custer as brother."
