"New York Dec 1st 1852
R.P. Hunt Esq.
Dear Sir,
On the 29th we sent you 14 Bales by steam boat to Albany and thence by Railway and herein enclosed the bill of the same - which we have paid - We have your letter this morning - As you probably would like to decide before Mr Whiteman can see you - We would say that we would supply the Mill with cotton if you can arrange to have the goods manufactured baled up and delivered at the Railway [illegible] to [cost?] over 2 1/8 [illegible] per yard We will take them in this way until 1st of May should the Mill not be [done?] sold, and if you choose to divide with us the profits or loss you can do so - We will buy the Cotton without charge and sell the goods at 5% [cost?] The goods we should of course expect would be well made, and we will tell"
On back of document on left:
"you on receipt of the 6 bales now on the way whether they are right or not, and what if any attentions should be made - Please write us on receipt of this if the proposal meets your needs and if so if you will share with us the profits or loss -
