Initially, a dock provided ferry access to the resort, where a sign reading Lake Crescent Tavern was posted. Primary access to the lodge changed from water to land in 1922 with the completion of a south shore road. The dock piers were replaced in the 1970s and are therefore not historic materials, yet they remain in their original location and signify the earliest mode of transportation to the resort.
