Repair Storm Damaged Park Assets Mammoth Cave National Park August 2009.
Restoration of services and the park debris clean-up resulting from the ice storms on January 27 and 28 2009. Work includes: 1) Clearing down trees, branches, overhead hazards, and other debris from 75 miles of park roads, and 86 miles of park trails. 2)Clearing down trees, branches, overhead hazards and other debris from 146 acres of park grounds. This includes campgrounds, picnic areas, public areas, overlooks, and cemeteries throughout the park. 3) Repair 3 buildings damaged by falling trees. 4) Replace boats damaged by falling trees. 5) Repair and or replace generators that failed during the power outage that followed the ice storm at the park emergency operations center and the superintendent office.
