Common terns (Sterna hirundo) at Cape Cod National Seashore
Terns are one of the shorebirds that breed at Cape Cod National Seashore. They nest in colonies at the beach and hence can be impacted by visitor activities. Common terns are listed as a species of concern by the State of Massachusetts.
