Trailer Restroom and proposed Comfort Station at Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site in May 2006
The existing Trailer Restroom dates to the park's opening to the public in May 1974. Intended as a temporary structure, the trailer is located about 200 ft (60 m) west of the historic Main House, "Connemara." It is 288 ft² (27 m²), containing two commodes for women, and one commode and a urinal for men. The park is planning to replace the Trailer Restroom with a permanent structure in the same location. A rendering of a preliminary elevation of the Comfort Station was made to show at the park's Visitor Contact Station.
