Coralroot
A cluster of white yellow plants blooming in a patch of sunshine on a dark forest floor.
Coralroot and other mycoheterotrophs are unusual plants that don't create chlorophyll but get nutrients from relationships with fungi. They thrive in the shadowy understory of Mount Rainier's forest and can be commonly viewed along the Rampart Ridge Trail.
