Sea anemones are the “sunflowers” of the sea. The sunburst anemone, Anthropleura solas, is so named for the intense stripes of color radiating from the centralized mouth. Some species of anemones adhere bits of shell fragment and rocks to their outer columns to camouflage and protect them.
