On front of document:
"At a meeting of several farmers of Junius & Waterloo, at the house of Wm Ten Eyck in said Town of Junius, Saturday evening October 4 th 1834 for the purpose of improvements in Stock &c in said Town, -- Israel Lisk Esqr was called to the chair & J.W. Bacon appointed Secretary
Resolved, that an association be formed in said Towns to be called the Junius & Waterloo association for the improvement in stock &c be organized upon such plan as shall here after be agreed on by the share holders
Resolved, that the association forthwith raise the sum of $350 to be divided into 35 Shares, of ten dollars each & that a suitable person be appointed to attend the State Agricultural fair to be held at Albany, the 8th & 9th Inst. & purchase for the benefit of said share holders, an improved Bull of the very best breed & if the funds warrant a Boar & Sow of the most improved breed of swine & should there be still remain a Surplus after making the above purchases, & of meeting the necessary expenses, the same is to be repaid by the Treasurer of the association to the several share holders in proportion to the No. of shares owned by each
Resolved that J W Bacon be & he is hereby appointed the agent to attend the State fair & make the purchases mentioned in the foregoing Resolution "
On back of document:
"Resolved that a Committee of Managment of the Association be appointed to consist of five of the Share holders, whose duty it shall be to manage the affairs of the association untill others are appointed in their stead. Whereupon James Stewart, Andrew Glover, Stephen Shear, Franklin Rogers, & J.W. Bacon were appointed said Committee –Resolved that R.P. Hunt be & he is hereby appointed Treasurer of said association The following Shares were then taken by the Gentlemen present whose names follow – Andrew Glover, 2 ½ shares – Franklin Rogers 2 [shares] John P Maynard 1 ½ [shares] Peter Shear 1 [shares] Stephen Shear 2 [shares] James Stuart 2 [shares] Wm. Wood 1 ½ [shares] G.W. McAlister 1 [shares] Benjm Maynard 1 [shares] Orrin Southwick 1 [shares] Israel Lisk 1 ½ [shares] J.W Bacon 2 ½ [shares] R.P. Hunt 2 ½ [shares] in all 22 Shares Resolved that each of the Share holders be a Com to solicit the taking up of thre remaining shares that the meeting stand adjourned to Monday next at 11 O’ck Am at the Hotel of John Stewart in the Village of Waterloo.”
